We started off class by correcting Jose's blog. There were no corrections needed, which earned our class another point. After that, Ms. Nakada passed out a piece of paper with three poems on it. The first one was called "How to Triumph Like a Girl" by Ada Limón, the second one was "the lost women" by Lucille Clifton, and the third one was called "Microaggression Bingo" by Fatimah Asghar. The last poem was in the format of a bingo game, so our class played.  During the game, Ms. Nakada called on people to read each microaggression, and then the class discussed it.

We also discussed why the second poem was written in lowercase, which was a conversation that existed mainly between Veronica and Willa. We finished up the poem readings, and then got ready to turn in our sonnets. Ms. Nakada passed out an editor submission form, and had us write the rubric she created. The rubric said that your sonnet had to have ten syllables, a rhyme scheme, and content. We were instructed to grade our own sonnets and initial each area of the rubric, then have a peer do the same. Willa read Shosh's poem out loud, and said that it had great content, despite the fact that it is  written about a frog and a log.  Jess is sitting at her desk squishing her nose and everyone else is either talking, or counting the syllables in their sonnets. The period is going to end in five minutes, and most people have finished grading their sonnets, which is today's exit ticket.
