Millen's DC Blog

Our day started with me and my roommates waking up really really tired. We woke up at 6:30 eastern time which is like 3:30 in LA. Then we headed down to the lower lobby and had some breakfast. Personally, I got maple honey sausages, some scrambled egg and some fruit. They also had waffles, yogurt, and some pastries. Then, we waited for our tour guide, Chad. We then loaded into the bus and headed to go see some monuments.

First we went to the MLK JR  monument.

Then we went to go see the Jefferson monument.

Next, we headed to the Smithsonian museums we went to the Natural History Museum and the to the African American Museum. We were able to eat at either museum in the cafeteria. We got 10 dollars (plus what ever other money you wanted to use) to buy lunch. We hopped on the bus and traveled. Then we went to go have dinner. We went to a Nando’s which was pretty good, however the portion sizes were small. Some kids went with one of the chaperones to get more food. So then my dad took me and some other kids to the Shake Shack. I got a great chocolate salted caramel shake. We then headed to go some more monuments.

We visited the Lincoln, the Vietnam War and the Korean War monuments. We were all really really tired and waited for our bus driver, Bob, to get there. We loaded on to the bus and some feel asleep, but a lot of people were acting crazy. However this is when I took the time to write this blog. We arrived. At the hotel and everyone was tired and some folks went to the pool.  Finally, we were able to chill and hang out. That about wraps up our first day here.
