Camila’s Second Blog
On our first day in Washington, the wake up call was at 6:30 a.m. Most people didn’t sleep well, and I heard someone say that he thought the hotel was on fire and that the wake up call was the fire alarm. Breakfast was on the lower level at 7:00. Then, we met our tour guide Chad, and went to the bus.
We started the day by going to the Martin Luther King Jr Memorial, the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial, and the Thomas Jefferson Memorial. Then, we went to some museums.  In the Natural History Museum, Chad told to go see the Hope diamond. In the American History Museum, we had to find Abraham Lincoln’s hat. Next, we went to the African American History and Culture Museum before going to take a look at the white house where Chad told us about a protest that has been going for years, and that we could ask the people in the tent who would be happy to tell us. Also, we saw someone important going in to the white house, but we didn’t know who it was. Then, we went to a souvenir shop and to take a picture at the back of the Capitol.
Then, we went to dinner at Nando’s, and some people were mad because they were vegetarians and couldn’t eat chicken. Before going to the hotel, we went back to the national mall to see the Vietnam War Memorial, the Korean War Memorial where Chad told to see if we could find a dog in the wall. People stopped at the reflective pool to take pictures.  Also, I saw a squirrel eating trash, and someone tried to touch it. Finally, we went to the Abraham Lincoln Memorial and Chad told us there was a typo on the wall, and to go find it. The typo was in the word future. The f was written as an e. After that, we waited for Bob, the bus driver, and when he arrived everyone was saying Bob and rushed to get to the bus, and finally went to the hotel. The curfew was 10.00 p.m, and some people went to the pool before curfew.
