HW- Enjoy the weekend!

We started off by reading Zia's blog, and then correcting it. It only had one mistake, which made Ms. Nakada introduce the goal of having no mistakes in the blog. She told us that if we didn't have any mistakes, we would earn points. After that, we took out our English notebooks, and added in more scores to calculate the total for our 10 week grade. Then, Ms. Nakada selected students to pass out past work, and told us to add it to our portfolios.

Once everyone had their work, Ms. Nakada told us to flip to a new page in our notebooks, and titled it, "Proofreading Marks." She wrote down different symbols, and what they mean on your essay (I will attach a picture of the notes at the end of the blog). Next, the class started reader's and writer's workshop. We were instructed to either read or write, until the end of the period, so there probably won't be very much to write about.

The bell rang, and Ms. Nakada collected our portfolios. Then, we were dismissed.

  6. 🇸🇻 UPDATE #9:

Once again. Big chunk of text. Except it wasn't because I was lazy, but rather because I wasn't near the internet for most of the day. Here we go.

Woke up. Had pancakes with Nutella and a bowl of fruit with some tamarind juice. Finished that and went over to the stream to watch some paper boats go down to the sea. They never did. It was high tide, and the waves were strong enough to get past the rocks and disrupt the flow of the stream. It was like a tsunami sending all the water backwards, which included my boats. They came right back to where they started. Funny how nature works.

We then hopped in the car and drove for an hour to the capital, San Salvador, where we had a business meeting. Apparently, it's one of the most dangerous cities in the world. 108.54 shooty-bang kills per 100,000 people. Very danger. Passed through the jungle and saw all these huge valleys, it was impressive. There were also some Taco Bell ads for the CHALUPA GRANDE.

Finally, we saw the first signs of the city. Drove down the highway until we came to this laptop repair shop, where we waited for 15 minutes while one of the workers at our place dropped off his laptop to be fixed. Continued on to our meeting place; the mall.

Spotted a spot pretty easily and parked there. Walked over to the entrance, where I was honestly impressed. I thought the mall would look like crap, but it didn't. It's actually better than a few malls back in LA. There were stands selling stuff and a few Volkswagens on display, most of which weren't sold here. We walked across the courtyard thingy to our actual meeting place.

    Olive Garden.

Sat down, ordered some shrimp and lasagna while everyone talked about construction. Shrimp and lasagna were good. Left after everyone was done talking, and we headed back. Some of the guys was still hungry, so we went to Pollo Campero (basically Central American KFC, they have a few locations in Los Angeles too). Parked there and while the guys had their chicken, we had the task of getting 50 pupusas for dinner. Got the pupusas, and kept walking down the street. We decided to get 4 more baby chickens to keep the 2 back at the place happy. So we did.

After that, we drove back, where we had the 4 new chicks greet the 2 chicks we had here. Chicks grow up so fast; one day and they already look like adults. Had some pupusas and went to find frogs. There were frogs left and right, some big, some small. We didn't do anything with the frogs, it was just fun to find them.

It's 8 in the morning right now, and one of the guys found a scorpion. He picked it up but the scorpion didn't sting. We let the chicks roam around and do what chicks do. One of them is eating a piece of coconut right now. See, doesn't everybody like coconuts?
