Elise's First Blog
Okay, so thanks for picking me. I really appreciate it. Um, I'm not very good with grammar, so forgive me if I have some errors.

So, after I was kindly picked, we started correcting Conlan's Blog, which didn't take long since he didn't have a lot of mistakes. After we finished correcting his blog, Ms. Nakada asked us to read our chapter summaries to our table partners. After the class quieted down, Ms. Nakada asked around to see if there was anyone who wanted to read their chapter summary out loud to the class, so then Ayden, Willa, and Hannah stepped up (or were picked IDK) and read their summaries out loud.
4.1 Pony hitches a ride home, and tells the gang about Johnny. Dally calls and needs help. The gang meets him at the lot, only to see Dally get shot by police. Pony passes out and for the next few days comes in and out of consciousness.
Then, we jumped into the homework instructions for tonight and possibly tomorrow night. She told us if we are going to Back to School Night we can finish the book tonight for homework if we wanted to. Then, she asked everyone to open our binder reminders so she can write our AR scores inside, and if we didn't finish them or do them we had the time to do them now.
While everyone is sitting quietly at their desks, doing whatever they're doing, Veronica walks up to the desk looking for some type of folder for Speech & Debate, and I try to help her find it, but I had no idea what she was looking for, so I gave up and came back to the Blog. Well, it got quiet and there's nothing to write about so imma wait...

Now, we're back and Ms. Nakada showed us on AR how we can check the Lexile that shows how to get the reading level of the book you are reading and how many words there are to help make your goal.
Here is a link to AR where you can check the Lexile level of a book.
She used a book called Maus that would get you 3.0 points if you were to read it. After she was done showing us the site, she asked us to pull out our English Notebooks and as everyone pulled them out we started a new "chapter" called English Conventions where we started to write down notes. She explains if we wanted to submit a draft we have to fill out an Editor Submission Form. Then, she started to list down different conventions for each genre.
